Fidessa is to increase its Australian business in Sydney as part of plans to drive growth across Asia Pacific.
The firm said it has opened a new office in Sydney, which will house both current and new employees, as well as new data centre facilities in the country.
Fidessa said the move is in response to its recent business success in Australia following the firm’s investment in the region this year, for example signing a deal with the Australian stock exchange.
“The Australian market is in a state of flux which has been primarily brought about by recent changes to the local regulatory framework and the imminent launch of alternative trading venue, Chi-X Australia,” said Jean-Pierre Baron, managing director of Fidessa’s business across Asia Pacific.
On the technology side, Fidessa said its new data centre facilities in the country will enable it to provide on a local level its entire range of low-latency connectivity, software as a service (SaaS) solutions and other managed and hosted services.
Baron pointed towards Fidessa’s commitment to the Australian market and that the country is very important within the firm’s Asia-Pacific strategy.
