With a new Chairman, the T-charter working group is finally shifting its focus towards the end user community. Hugo Cox evaluates the successes of the industry code to date in increasing the accuracy with which transitions can be measured and evaluated, and identifies areas on which the working group is now likely to focus.
On 25 May, Martin Mannion, Director of Finance and Risk for the GSK UK Pension Schemes, was appointed to Chair the working group of the T-charter, the industry-driven code of best practice that dates back to 2004. The appointment fills a vacancy left by Rick DiMascio, chief executive and founder of Inalytics, who retired in February after five years in the post.
The appointment removes an obvious shortcoming that had characterised the group over its previous existence: the absence of a representative from the so-called end-user community – those pension funds and other asset owners...
