State Street takes back crown
After getting knocked off its pedestal last year, losing its first place position in the overall unweighted ranking to Northern Trust, this year State Street has dusted itself off and taken its top spot back.
One category State Street was overtaken in last year and regained first place in this year was global coverage and coordination. Peter Economou, head of securities finance global trading and risk management, State Street comments: "The reason for the drop was nothing I can pinpoint, would I say it was a blip? Yes, but when you're talking about Northern, you're talking about a very quality organisation. We focus on global coverage and improving our product year on year."
