The Taiwan Stock Exchange (TSEC) intends to reduce the stock borrow and loan (SBL) handling fee for negotiated transactions.
The handling fee charged by the TSEC is at the moment a one-time charge of 50% on four basis points of the transaction value, the same fee charged by a securities firm. The new fee structure will be based on the loan period.
It will become two basis points of the trading value, divided by 365 times the loan period. The fee charged by a securities firm will be negotiable.
