State Street hits $10 billion in 130/30

State Street Global Advisors (SSgA) has reached the $10 billion mark for assets under management in its fast-growing Edge strategies, SSgA's version of short-extension or 130/30 approaches.

The strategies provide investors with a bridge between moderate risk/moderate value-added long-only strategies and high-risk hedge strategies.

Israel to launch electronic repo market by Q1 2008

Israel's capital markets forum will launch an electronic repo market by the first quarter of 2008.

MTS Israel, a unit of MTS SpA, operator of Europe's dominant government bond trading system, was selected.

Cash volumes on MTS Israel have reached NIS38.5 billion ($9.16 billion) since its launch in September 2006, a growth of 149% from the first full quarter of operation. For the first six months of 2007, volumes came to NIS86.3 billion ($20.6 billion).
